Examples of modules might include: acquisitions (ordering, receiving, and invoicing materials), cataloging (classifying and indexing materials) circulation (lending materials to patrons and receiving them back) serials (tracking magazine and newspaper holding) and the OPAC (Public Interface for users).Each patron and item has unique ID in the database that allows the ILS to track its activity. Larger libraries use an ILS to order and acquire, receive and invoice, catalog, circulation (like churches or synagogues, for instance), often forgo the expense and maintain required to run an ILS, and instead use a library computer system. Evergreen is an open source integrated library system (ILS), initially developed by the Georgia public library service for public information network for electronic service (PINES), a statewide resource sharing.Consortium with over 270 member libraries. Beyond PINES, the Evergreen ILS is deployed worldwide in hundreds of libraries, and is used to power a number of statewide consortia catalogs. Arlante (1999-present) launched the University Library Web site: purchased the integrated library system MAELISA; purchased and implement the in house developed Integrated Library System (ILIB); adopted the policy of access versus holdings; promoted the welfare of the researcher, extension and professional Staff; and is exploring alternative nformation technologies. On the other hand, Aggabao conducted a similar study in library resources, services and facilities in the state and universities in region 2.
